FRENCH ETC. - ETC stands for “E-Tutorials and Classes” - started in the summer of 2007 with three friends who wanted to deal with the kind of French that you can actually use in France. We want you to understand what’s being said to you and we want you to be understood when you go and visit France. We teach everyday vocabulary and current expressions that you might not find in your regular class or textbook. We hope that you find our Podcasts and lessons helpful.
Anne Guével, founder of FRENCH ETC. was born in Brittany, France. She just lives for teaching languages. She’s passionate about it. She started going online in 2006 when her Chinese students asked her to record audio files so they could remember how to pronounce Chinese words from one lesson to the next. She needed to send the audio files quickly and thought of online. She loved the challenge of finding a new way to help her students. It worked really well for all and she had opened up a whole new world that lead her to FRENCH ETC. when she came back to California where she now lives.
At FRENCH ETC, we know that our subscribers come from all over. That is why we have created a Web site that caters to a global network of French enthusiasts. Whether you come from Santa Rosa, CA where we can meet in person, or from Nagano, Japan, Somerset West, South Africa, or Tegucigalpa, Honduras, we can stay connected. Some of you just listen to all the Podcasts, some just listen to one of them, some of you are teachers and use the xeroxable worksheets, and some of you sign up for the online live classes that FRENCH ETC. offers. All of you have different reasons for signing up for FRENCH ETC., and we are very thankful for your interest and participation.
