Mot du jour Podcast

Pas folle la guêpe, she’s no fool

Pas folle la guêpe – not crazy the wasp – means she or he’s no fool. Use this expression when talking about a wise person, mostly a woman, who makes smart decisions.

  • « Elle a acheté son billet de train 2 mois à l’avance pour avoir les réduc SNCF. Pas folle la guèpe. »
  • “She bought her train ticket 2 months ahead in order to get the SNCF discount. She’s no fool.”

There are many other expressions you probably won’t find in your textbook on the Web site. Venez nous voir.

That was Anne’s native take on a French expression. Bonne journée française.
