Mot du jour Podcast

truc-muche

truc-muche means what’s-her-name, what’s-his-name, what’s-its-name, whatchamacallit, thingy, gizmo. And if there are a few translations in English, there are quite a few in French too: machin, machine, bidule, bidule-chouette are all synonyms of truc-muche.

« J’suis tombé sur truc-muche, tu sais, celui qui tient la pâtisserie dans la rue machin. »
“I ran into what’s-his-name, you know, the one who ownes the pastry shop on Whatchamacallit Street.”

That was Anne’s native take on a French expression. Bonne journée française.
