lécher means to lick, une vitrine is a store widow. Yet, lécher les vitrines doesn’t mean to lick the store windows, but to window shop.
« — Qu’est-ce tu fais c’te apème ?
– Je vais lécher les vitrines.»
” — Whatcha doing this afternoon?
– I’m going window shopping.”
The conjugation of lécher is slightly irregular. Listen to it and download the AUDIO on the Present Tense page of the Web site.
