matos is short for matériel. It means material, equipment, machinery. With computers, it means the hardware.
« T’as pris le matos pour la randonnée ? »
“Did you take the material for the hyke?”
« Faut que j’fasse la mise à jour de mon matos pour la conf. »
“Have to update the hardware for the lecture.”
